Ready for Halloween? Don’t Forget These Trick or Treating Tips

With Halloween just around the corner and COVID cases trending down, many are looking forward to a more typical trick or treating this year. While candy may be at the forefront of your minds, we are here to remind you to think about your feet too! Here are some questions to ask before heading out to make trick-or-treating fun, safe, and foot pain free!

Do you have a plan?

If you are going with multiple people, especially kids, know where you will be walking. There will be many unfamiliar faces, decorated houses, and costumes, so have a plan for if anyone gets separated.

Is your costume safe?

The last thing you want is to get hurt on Halloween! Avoid tripping, slipping, and getting caught on things by checking your costumes for length and safety. Long capes and draping material has potential to get stepped on, so make sure they are not too long.

Are your feet comfortable?

No matter how much you think the look will add to your costume, don’t sacrifice your foot comfort. Chances are you will be walking a lot, so wear shoes that you know are comfortable and will support you the whole way. Make sure they are not too big or small, and don’t forget to dress your feet appropriately for chillier weather too.

Do you have light?

Trick-or-treating is usually done when it’s dark, which makes it harder to see paths and hazards. Avoid potentially perilous objects, injuries, and losing people by bringing a source of light with you.
